Output selection (DVD-VR355 only)

Connect the DVD Recorder & VCR to your TV via HDMI or DVI. Set your TV's input to HDMI or DVI.

Press the P.SCAN button while the unit is in Stop mode to select the output resolution.

-If your TV is connected the HDMI or DVI cable, the output resolution mode changes in the following sequence each time you press the P.SCAN button:

576p → 720p → 1080i

-If your TV is connected the AV or component cables(without HDMI/ DVI cable), the output resolution mode toggles 576p/576i in turn.

HDMI/DVI cable does not support 576i. Video with 576i resolution can only be viewed through the analog outputs (Composite/S-Video/Component).

■ Even if HDMI/DVI cable is connected to your TV, the AV connection outputs only 576i and the component connection outputs only 576p irrespective of the on-screen display.

Progressive scan automatically activates when HDMI is connected. (Please make sure PS is indicated on the front panel of the DVD Recorder & VCR.)

There will be no HDMI video and audio outputs unless progressive scan function is activated.

Consult your TV User’s Manual to find out if your TV supports Progressive Scan.

If Progressive Scan is supported, follow the TV User’s Manual regarding Progressive Scan settings in the TV’s menu system.

If Video Output is set incorrectly, the screen may be blocked.

The resolutions available for HDMI/DVI output depend on the connected TV or projector. For details, see the user’s manual of your TV or projector.

When the resolution is changed it may take a few seconds for a normal image to appear.

If you set the HDMI output resolution 720p or 1080i, HDMI output provides better picture quality.
