11.6 Battery Exchange

You can exchange the batteries without stopping the load devices. However, this should be done as quickly as possible, because the UPS will be unable to provide backup power in the event of a power outage.

 

The battery pack weighs about 6kg (13.23 lbs). Be careful not to drop it on

 

your feet. Bodily injury can result.

 

Wear insulated gloves and take other precautions when exchanging the

 

batteries. Otherwise electric shock can result.

CAUTION

There is a constant voltage (max. approx. 24V: approx. 12V 2) at the

 

battery terminals. Do not touch them with your hands or short circuit them.

Remove the front panel of the UPS.

Remove the screw on the right side of the battery cover, and then remove the battery

cover.

Disconnect the battery connector.Pull the battery pack out.

Battery connector. Insulate with tape or other insulator.

Remove 1 screw*, and remove

the battery cover by sliding in the direction of the arrow.

Remove by sliding in the direction of the arrow while firmly pressing the two locations indicated by

When a screw is used,

do not lose the removed screw.

When a non-dropping screw is used, this screw cannot be removed from the battery cover. Do not try to detach it forcedly.

Insert the new battery pack so that the connector faces forward.Connect the battery connector.

Insert the battery pack in the direction of the arrow.

The connector cannot be inserted in the wrong orientation. Push in until you hear a click.

The battery connector cannot be inserted in the wrong orientation. If it does not go in, do not try to force it. Doing so can damage the

CAUTION connector and result in electric shock.

Be careful not to get your hands caught when securing the cover.
