ADDING A VOICE MEMO

In the still image shooting mode, you can record approximately 4 seconds of sound (called a “voice memo”) when capturing the image. You can also add a voice memo to an image previously recorded (see “ADDING A VOICE MEMO (ADD AUDIO FUNCTION)” on page 109).

1 Display the Still Image Shooting Setting Screen (see

page 31).

2 Select the add voice memo icon afrom the voice

 

memo menu, and press the SET button.

 

a: For adding a voice memo.

 

b: For not adding a voice memo.

 

œ This completes the voice memo setting.

 

œ The voice memo setting returns to off when the main

 

switch is set to “MONITOR OFF” or Ô, or the digital

 

camera is turned off.

 

œ To exit the Shooting Setting Screen, press the MODE

 

button. When the Shooting Setting Screen disappears,

 

the voice memo icon aappears in the upper right area

 

of the LCD monitor.

 

3 Press the shutter release button to capture the image

and then talk into the microphone.

œ About 4 seconds of sound are recorded.

 

œ During the recording, Kappears in the upper right

 

area of the LCD monitor.

 

œ When the voice memo is finished, the setting returns to

 

the no voice memo setting.

 

œ The voice memo can be played back in the still image

 

playback mode (see page 98).

 

When you have finished capturing images, turn off the digital camera.

NOTE

œWhen the compression ratio is set to L, it takes approximately 30 seconds for the image data to be recorded (when using the supplied 16MB CompactFlash card). The voice memo will start after this. When the recording for the voice memo begins, Kwill appear in the upper right area of the LCD monitor.

œThe voice memo function cannot be used in the sequential shot shooting mode.

œIn the video clip mode, the sound is recorded automatically.

œEach voice memo uses one-half the memory of an image captured at a resolution of 4and compression rate of G.
