USING THE VARIOUS SHOOTING FUNCTIONS

Using the self-timer

Use the self-timer function to have the digital camera automatically capture the image for you 10 seconds after the shutter release button is pressed. The self-timer can only be used in the still image shooting mode.

1 Display the Still Image Shooting Setting Screen (see page 31).

2 Select the self-timer on icon Ufrom the self-timer menu, and press the SET button.

U: For turning on the self-timer function.

V: For turning off the self-timer function.

œThis completes the self-timer setting.

œThe self-timer setting returns to off when the main switch is set to “MONITOR OFF” or Ô, or the digital camera is turned off.

3 Press the shutter release button.

œWhen the shutter release button is pressed, the self-timer indicator will light for about 7 seconds, flash for about 3 seconds, and then the image is captured. At this time, if the beep sound setting is “ALL” or “SHUTTER”, a warning tone (beep-beep-beep) sounds.

œWhen using the self-timer function, be sure to use a tripod or place the digital camera on a level, stable surface.

œAfter the image has been captured, the self-timer function is turned off.

œIf the shutter release button is pressed before the image is captured, the self-timer mode is stopped temporarily. Press the shutter release button one more time to restart the self-timer.

œTo cancel the self-timer mode, select the self-timer off icon Vand press the SET button.
