9 Electro-Magnetic Compatibility (EMC)

9.1 Electro-Magnetic Compatibility (EMC)

All manufacturers / assemblers of electrical apparatus which “perf orms a complete
intrinsic function and is placed on the market as a single unit intende d for the end
user” must comply with the EMC directive EEC/89/336.
There are two routes for the manufacturer/assembler to demonstrate com pliance:

9.1.1 Self-Certification

This is a manufacturer's declaration that the European standards a pplicable to the
electrical environment for which the apparatus is intended have bee n met. Only
standards that have been officially published in the Official Jour nal of the European
Community can be cited in the manufacturer's declaration.

9.1.2 Technical Construction File

A technical construction file can be prepared for the apparatus descr ibing its EMC
characteristics. This file must be approved by a ‘Competent Body’ a ppointed by the
appropriate European government organization. This approach allo ws the use of
standards that are still in preparation.
NOTE
However, MICROMASTER 410 is designed to be used only by professional
endusers with EMC knowledge. It is not designed for users having no EMC
knowledge.
In any case this operating instructions cover sufficient inform ation which enables
the professional enduser to implement from his side all measures to e nsure
electromagnetical compatibility.
