channel (stereo) sources completely bypass tile
sound field processing. Multi channel surround
limnats are dowmnixed to two channels.
This allows you to play any source using only
tile front left and right speakers and subwoofcr.

HEADPHONE THEATER
This mode outputs the sound as surround from
headphone L/R.
This l'uucdou is based on "Digital Cinema
Sound" technology.
HEADPHONE 2 CHANNEL STEREO
This mode outputs the sound fi'om headphone L/
R. Standard 2 channel (stereo) sources
completely bypass the sound field processing.
Multi channel surround l\_rmats are downmixed
to two channels.
To turn the surround effect off
Press SOUND FIELD +/- repeatedly until
"A.F.D. STD" or "2CH STEREO" appears in
tile front panel display.
The system memorizes Ihe last sound field selected
foreach fimction mode.
Whenever you select afunction such as DVD or
TUNER, the sound field thatwas last ipplied to
function is automatically apiHiedagain. Forexample,
ifyou listen to DVD with PRO LOGIC asthe sound
fiel&then changeto another fimction, and Ibenreturn
to DVD, PRO LOGIC will be applied again.
(DUAL MONO)
You can enjoy multiplex broadcast sound when
the system receive or play the Dolby Digital
multiplex broadcast signal.
•To receive the Dolby Digital signal,you needto
connect a digital sitellite tuner to the unitwith an
optical or coaxial digital cord (page 34) and set the
digital output mode of the digital satellite tuner to
DolbyDigital.
