On power sources

Unplug the unit fiom the wall outlet ifyou donot
intend touse itfor an extended period of time. To
disconnect the cord, pull it out by the plug, never by
the cord.

On placement

•Place Ihe system in a location withadequate
ventilation toprevent helt build-up inthe system.
•At high volu me, over long periods of trine, the cabinet
becomes hot to the touch This is not a malfunction.
However, touching thecabinet shouMbe ivoided Do
not place the unit in a confined space where
ventilation ispoor as this may cause overheating.
• Do not block the ventilation slots by l)utting anything
on the system. The system is equipped with a high
power amplifier. Ifthe ventilation slots are blocked,
the unit can overheat and malfunction.
• Do not place the unit on surfaces (rugs, blankets, etc./
or near materials (curtains, draperies) that may block
the ventilation slots.
• Do not install the unit near heat sources such as
radiators, orair ducts, orin a place subject todirect
sunlight, excessive dust, mechanical vibration, or
shock.
• Do not install the unit in an inclined position. It is
designed to be operated in ahorizontal position only.
• Keep the unit and discs away from equipment with
strong magnets, such asmicrowave ovens, or large
loudspeakers.
• Do not place heavy ohjects onthe unit.

On operation

•If the system is brought directly from acoM toa _ArllFin
locatiom or is placed ina very damp room, moisture
may condense on the lenses inside Ibe control unit.
Should this occur, the system may not operate
properly. Inthis case, remove the disc and leave the
system turned onfor about half an hour until the
moisture evaporates
•When youmove the system, take out any disc. If you
don'k the disc may bedamaged
•If anything falls into the cabincl, unplug the unit and
have it checked by qualified personnel before
operating it any lhrther

On adjusting volume

•Do not turn up the volume _hile listening toi section
with very low level inputs or no audio signals. Ifyou
do, the speakers may be damaged when a peak level
section is suddenly played.

On cleaning

•Clean the cabinet, panel, and controls with ilsofl ch)th
slightly moistened with i mild detergent solution. Do
not use any type of abrasive pad, scouring powder or
solvent such as alcohol or benzine.

On cleaning discs, disc/lens

cleaners
Do not use cleaning discs or disc/lens cleaners
(including wet or spray types). These may cause
the apparatus to malfunction.

On your TV's color

If the speakers should cause theTV screen tohave
color irregularity, turn offthe TV then turn iton after
15to 30 minutes. Ifcolor irregularity should persisk
place the speakers filrther away from the TV set.
IMPORTANT NOTICE
Caution: This system is capable of holding astill
video image or on-screen display image onyour
television screen indefinitely. If you leave Ibe still
video image or on-screen display image displayed
on your TV foran extended period of time you risk
permanent damage to your television screen.

On moving the system

1Press FUNCTION repeatedly to select

"DVD."

2 Make sure that all discs are removed from

the unit.

3Press I::::>and I/(_ simultaneously.

"MECHA LOCK" appears inthe front panel

display after "STANDBY."

4 Remove the AC power cord(mains lead)

from the wall outlet (mains).
