You cannot change default print settings.

Retrieving the Print Settings Saved
You can retrieve the print settings any time.
1 Click the 
(Retrieve Settings) button on the Printing Preferences dialog box.

The Retrieve Settings dialog box appears.
2 Click the file name you wish to retrieve from the list.
The file name is displayed in the Name text box.
The file name selected in step 2 is displayed.
3 Click the [Retrieve] button.
The Retrieve Settings dialog disappears. The printer switches to the print settings retrieved.
Note
Settings for adding and removing stamps are not saved.
Resetting the print settings to default settings
1 Click the 
(Retrieve Settings) button on the Printing Preferences dialog box.
2 Select “Default” from the list.
Select “Default.”
3 Click the [Retrieve] button on the Retrieve Setting dialog box.
The printer changes in default settings status. For detailed information on default settings, see “Setting Items for the Printer Driver” on page 65.
