theprinthead and/orplaten.Inaddition,thetotalnumberof linesprintedis
considerable,morethancan beaccommodatedonasinglesheet,sofanfold
paperis recommendedforthistest.
Printarea test modeByholdingthe~! buttondownduringpower-up,theprinterwill
entertheprintaxeatestmode.Thisway,youcanfmdhowmanylinesonyour
paperareavailableforprinting.Theprinterwillprintthe firstlinemessage,
thenprintthe lastline messageafterfeedingto the bottomofthe page.
Ifyou haveloadedthe fanfoldpaper,onlythe firstlinemessageis printed.
Pitchlock modeByholdingthe ITiRZil buttondownduringpower-up,the printpitch can
ordybetilected fmmthecxmtrolpanel.Thispreventssoftwareinterference.
Youwill hearan acknowledgingbeepaspowercomes on.
Afterthebeeptone, youcanset theprinteroff-line,selectaprintpitch,then
returnto on-lineandstart printing.Thepitchyou selectedwillnotbe reset
orotherwisechangedby anycommandsyoursoftwaremay issue.
Fontlock modeByholdingthe [~1 buttonduringpower-up,printmode andfontscan
ordybexlected fromthecontrolpanel.Thispreventssoftwareinterference.
Therewillbean acknowledgingbeepaspowercomeson. Afterwhichyou
cansetthepnnteroff-line,selectaprintmodeandfont, thenretumtotheon-
linestate andbegin printing.Theselectedprintmode andfont willnot be
changedbyany commandsyoursoftswuemayissue.
Pitchand Font lock modeIfyouwantto protectboththepitchandfontsettingsfmmsoftwatechanges,
pmssboththe [~1 and ~[ buttonsduringpower-up.The~willbe
twoacknowledgingbeeptones.
Pressingthesebuttonsduringpower-updoesnotpreventyou fmmmaking
anynumberof changeslaterfrom thecontrolpanel.
