Thischapterdescribesthefollowingprocedurestosetup your newprinter.
Ifyouhaveoptionalaccessories,mfertochapter3aftersettinguptheprinter.

LOCATINGTHEPRINTER

Beforeyoustart unpackingandsettingup yourprinter, makesumthat you
haveasuitableplaceon whichto locateit. By “asuitableplace”,we mean:
Afirm,level surfacewhichis fairlyvibration-free
Awayfromexcessiveheat(such as direct sunligh~heaters,etc)
Awayfromexcessivehumidity
Awayfmm excessivedust
Supplyitwith “clean”electricity.Donotconnectitto the samecircuitas
alarge,noise-producingappliancesuchasarefrigerator.
Make sure the line voltageis the voltage specified on the printer’s
identiilcationplate.
Todisconnectthe printer,the plughas to be disconnectedfromthewall
socket,whichhas to belocated closeto theprinter, andeasy to access.
Installtheprinterwhemthereissufficientmomforthepaperandanypaper
beingfed in or printedout.
If youate connectingyour printer with aCentmnicspamllelinterface,
makesumthatthecableis within2m(6ft)of theprinter.AnRS-232serial
connectionusingtheoptionalIS-8XLinterfacecartridgecanbemadeover
longerdistances.
