Communalmenu

Thismenu allowsyouto setup various pararnetemcontrollingthe overall
setupof theprinter.
cEmulation
Selectthemodecompatiblewithyourcomputerandsoftware.In Standard
mode, [*STANDARD], the printeroperates likethe Epson EX-800/EX-
1000.InIBM mode,[IBM], itoperateslike theIBM PmprinterIII.
●RAMusage
In orderto download charactersthis switch mustbe set [DOWNLOAD
BUFFER]. The printerthen uses its RAM memoryfor storingcharacter
patternsandprovidesonly aone-lineprintbuffer.
If youleave this switchto [*INPUT BUFFER], the printer usesits RAM
memoryasan inputbuffer,allowingthecomputertosenddatafasterthan
theprinterprints.
If youwant theprintbuffer onlyoneline, setto [1LINEBUFFER].
cQuietmode
Youcan select the Quietmode as the power-on defaultby settingthis
switchto [ENABLED].
WheninQuietmode,theprinterwillprintslightlyslower,butatareduced
noiselevel.
cGraphicsdi~ction
When printingin dot graphics mode,the printer may either print bi-
dimctionally(inalternatedirections),[*BI-DIRECTIONAL],forspeed orin
onedirectiononly (uni-directionalforincreasedaccuracy),[UNl-DIREC-
TIONAL].
Forpracticallyallpmposes,however,bi-directionalprintingissufficiently
accurate.
