Clearingthe buffer/Allreset
Theprinter storesreceived datain alarge memorybuffer. This cxeatesa
problemwhenyouwanttoabandonaprintingjobandrestart:theprintermay
be holdingmore data in its buffer than it has actually printed,and this
unprinteddatamustbeclearedoutbeforerestating.‘l’’urningpowerof fisone
wayto clear thebuffer,but themis anotherway:

Halttheprintingprogramonthecomputer.Ifprintingstopsimmediately,
thebufferisclearandthe restofthispmcedumisunnecessary.Ifprinting
doesnot stop,continueas follows:
Pressthe ION
LINE Ibuttonto setthe printeroff-line. Printingwill
nowstop, buttheremay be dataremainingin thebuffer.
Pressand holdthe rON LINE [button.
While pnxsing the ION LINE 1button down, press and hold the
mbutton. Continueholding these two buttons down. In few
secondsyou will hear abeep tone signalingthat the buffer has been
cleared.
Ifyou holdtheseswitchesmom threeseconds,youwillhear threebeep
tones signalingthat the printer has been initializedto the power-on
defaultsettings.
Releasethesebuttons,make anynecessarycontrolpanel settings,then
setthe printerbackon-line.
Itis essentialtohaltthepnntingprogramonthecomputerbeforeyougooff-
line.Otherwise,when yougo backon-linethe computerwillstart sending
dataagainandthepnnterwill continueprinting,withmissingdatawherethe
bufferwas cleared.
Selectingtheprint color
Normally,theprinterpMts withblack evenif the colorribbonis installed.
Withouttheaid of software,youcan changetheprintingcolor as follows:

LINE Ibuttonto setthe printeroff-line.
