Supported message systems

SQLRemote exchanges data among databases using an underlying message

system. SQL Remote supports the following message systems:

♦Filesharing Asimple system requiring no extra software.

♦FTP Internetﬁle transfer protocol.

♦SMTP/POP Internete-mail protocol.

♦MAPI MicrosoftMessaging Application Programming Interface, used

inMicrosoft products and in cc:Mail release 8 and later.

♦VIM VendorIndependent Messaging, used in Lotus Notes and in some

versionsof Lotus cc:Mail.

Notall systems are supported on all operating systems. Forall systems other

thanthe ﬁle sharing system, you must have purchased and installed the

appropriatemessage system software for SQL Remote to function over this

system. SQL Remote does not include the underlying message system

software.
