Types of difference

Thedifferences between the versions of the software are of the following

kinds:

♦Functionality Tasksthat can be carried out by one of the two versions,

butnot by the other.

♦Approach Althougha similar result can be obtained, a different

approachis required in each version. Thisincludes tasks that are carried

outin ways that are superﬁcially different, but which have the same

result.

♦Server differences Tasksassociated with SQL Remote, such as backup

management,are different for the two servers. Thesedifferences are not

describedhere.

Thisappendix addresses only replication using Adaptive Server Anywhere

asremote databases. There are additional limitations if using Adaptive

ServerEnterprise as remote servers.
