■Monitor function

The monitor function releases the squelch or VSC mute mo- mentarily when very weak signals are received without having to re-adjust the squelch manually.

■Lock function

The lock function is available so that you can listen to one fre- quency continuously and not worry about accidentally chang- ing it or activating an undesired function.

Set monitor

While pushing [MONI], squelch mute is released; when the VSC function is ON, both squelch and VSC mute are re- leased.

Set lock

While pushing [FUNC], push [(EDIT)LOCK] to toggle the lock function ON and OFF.

All switches and controls are electronically locked except for [POWER], [MONI] and [FUNC].
