Installing User Software on a Windows Computer

This chapter describes installing software and setting up printing from a Windows-based computer running Windows 95, Windows 3.1x, or Windows NT 4.0.

The general steps for installing the DocuColor 40 CP software are:

Install the Adobe PostScript printer driver and PostScript Printer Description files (PPDs) for all Windows systems.

Set up the printer driver to communicate with the DocuColor 40 CP.

For Windows 95 and Windows NT 4.0 only, install the DocuColor utilities (Downloader and Print Calibrator).

Configure the connection for Downloader and Print Calibrator.

Copy additional color reference and application files from the User Software CD as needed.

Installing Windows software

The Instalrs folder on the User Software CD contains the following installer folders:

Calib—Print Calibrator installer

Download—Downloader installer

Ps_drvr—Adobe PostScript printer driver installers and DocuColor 40 CP PPD files for all supported Windows systems
