This chapter describes installing software and setting up printing from a
The general steps for installing the DocuColor 40 CP software are:
•Install the Adobe PostScript printer driver and PostScript Printer Description files (PPDs) for all Windows systems.
•Set up the printer driver to communicate with the DocuColor 40 CP.
•For Windows 95 and Windows NT 4.0 only, install the DocuColor utilities (Downloader and Print Calibrator).
•Configure the connection for Downloader and Print Calibrator.
•Copy additional color reference and application files from the User Software CD as needed.
Installing Windows software
The Instalrs folder on the User Software CD contains the following installer folders:

In addition, the User Software CD includes various color files. These files can be copied or installed from the CD and placed in the appropriate locations on your hard disk (see “Copying color files from the User Software CD” on page 39):
•ICM printer profiles
•Separation Tables and a monitor settings file for use with Adobe Photoshop
•PostScript CMYK reference file
•PostScript PANTONE Coated Color Reference file
•RGB color reference files for specifying colors from Microsoft Word and PowerPoint
