17.3 NAT Server Setup

A server set is a list of LAN servers mapped to external ports. To use this set, NAT must be enabled. Please see the section on port forwarding in the chapter on NAT web configurator screens for further information on these menus. To configure NAT Server Setup, enter 15 from the main menu to bring up the following screen.

Step 1. Enter a port number in an unused Start Port No field. To forward only one port, enter it again in the End Port No field. To specify a range of ports, enter the last port to be forwarded in the End Port No field.

Step 2. Enter the inside IP address of the server in the IP Address field. In the following figure, you have a computer acting as an FTP, Telnet and SMTP server (ports 21, 23 and 25) at 192.168.1.33.

Step 3. Press [ENTER] at the “Press ENTER to confirm …” prompt to save your configuration after you define all the servers or press [ESC] at any time to cancel.

17.4 General NAT Examples

The following are some examples of NAT configuration using the SMT.

17.4.1 Example 1: Internet Access

In the following Internet access example, one public IP address on the WAN is mapped to several private IP addresses on the LAN. Therefore these LAN computers are invisible to the outside world.
