CHAPTER 10

Filtering

This chapter discusses static IP and MAC address port filtering.

10.1 Overview

Port filtering means discarding (or dropping) packets based on the MAC addresses and VLAN group.

10.2 Configure a Filtering Rule

Click Advanced Application and Filtering in the navigation panel to display the screen as shown next.

Type a descriptive name (up to 32 printable ASCII characters) for this rule. This is for

 

 

identification purpose only.

MAC

 

Type a MAC address in valid MAC address format, that is, six hexadecimal character

 

 

pairs.

VID

 

Type the VLAN group identification number.
