ANTES DE DARLE ARRANQUE AL MOTOR

Agregar Aceite al Motor

¡PRECAUCIÓN! Si intenta arrancar el motor antes de llenarlo con el aceite recomendado, puede provocar una avería.

1.Coloque la generador en una superficie plana y nivelada.

2.Limpie la zona de alrededor del orificio de llenado de aceite y quite el tapón amarillo.

3.Con la ayuda de un embudo (opcional), vierta lentamente el contenido de las dos botellas de aceite por el orificio de llenado hasta el punto de desbordamiento.

4.Vuelva a colocar el tapón y apriételo firmemente.

NOTA: Consulte la sección “Aceite”, en la página 45, para ver las recomendaciones relativas al aceite.

Agregue Combustible

1.Utilice combustible normal sin plomo, limpia y nueva con un mínimo de 87 octanos. NO utilice combustible que contenga metanol ni mezcle aceite con combustible.

2.Limpie el área alrededor de la tapa de llenado del combustible, retire la tapa.

3.Agregue lentamente combustible regular "SIN PLOMO" al tanque de combustible.Tenga cuidado para no llenar encima del deflector. Esto permite el espacio adecuado para la expansión del combustible (Figura 22).

4.Instale la tapa del tanque de combustible y la espera para algún combustible rociado para evaporar.

NOTA: Este motor está certificado para funcionar con gasolina.

ADVERTENCIA

La combustible y sus vapores son extremadamente inflamables y explosivos.

El fuego o una explosión pueden causar quemaduras severas e inclusive la muerte.

CUANDO AÑADA COMBUSTIBLE

•Apague el generador (posición OFF) y déjelo enfriar al menos por

2 minutos antes de remover la tapa de la combustible. Afloje la tapa lentamente para dejar que la presión salga del tanque.

•Llene el depósito de combustible a la intemperie.

•NO llene demasiado el tanque. Permita al menos espacio para la expansión del combustible.

•Si se ha derramado combustible, espere a que se evapore antes de arrancar el motor.

•Mantenga la combustible alejada de chispas, llamas abiertas, pilotos, calor y otras fuentes de ignición.

•NO encienda un cigarrillo o fume.

¡PRECAUCIÓN! Los combustibles con mezcla de alcohol (gasohol, etanol o metanol) pueden atraer la humedad y provocar la separación y formación de ácidos durante el almacenamiento. Los gases ácidos pueden dañar el circuito de combustible y el motor durante el almacenamiento.

Para evitar problemas en el motor, vacíe el circuito de combustible o trátelo con un aditivo cuando vaya a almacenar la unidad durante 30 días o más. Si agrega un aditivo para el combustible, llene el depósito con combustible nuevo. Si sólo se llena parcialmente, el aire contenido en el depósito favorecerá el deterioro del combustible durante el almacenamiento. Si no utiliza un aditivo para el combustible, vacíe el depósito, arranque el motor y déjelo funcionar hasta que el circuito de combustible y el carburador queden vacíos. Utilice combustible nuevo la próxima temporada. Para obtener más información al respecto, consulte “Almacenamiento” en la página 49.

NUNCA utilice productos limpiadores para motores o carburadores en el depósito de combustible, ya que podrían provocar daños permanentes.
