Windows NT 4.0/2000 Configuration Utility

The Windows NT 4.0 and Windows 2000 Configuration utilities are located in your Windows System directory.

Note: The steps below display Windows NT 4.0 dialog boxes. The Windows 2000 dialog boxes are similar.

These utilities allow you to manage various resources of your MT4X56USB. You can:

check the version numbers and other information regarding the drivers,

check mapping of each physical communications port to the Windows COM port numbers,

assign the physical ports to any available Windows COM port number from 1 to 255, and

give your MT4X56USB a user-friendly name (useful if you have more than one).

To access the Configuration utility:

1.Click Start Programs Multi-Tech USB Utilities USB Configuration Utility.

2.The MultiModemUSB USB Properties dialog box (General tab) is displayed.

While in the General tab, use your cursor to highlight your MT4X56USB and then click the Information or the Configure button.

The Information screen (not shown) displays information about your MT4X56USB; including manufacturer’s name, device name, serial and part number, ROM size, CPU Revision, RAM size, etc.

The configuration screen (see below) allows you to change the device name and the starting number for the ports.

Click OK to save the changes and return to the MultiModemUSB USB Properties dialog box.
