3.7 Copying the directory

You can copy one or all of the directory items between a handset and the base unit or between two handsets. Items copied to the destination unit are added to its directory (Phone directory sharing).

LKeep the front cover page open for button locations.

Important:

LMake sure the base unit, your handset and the destination unit are not being used when copying directory items.

LOnce copying has started, do not place your handset on the charger until it is

complete, otherwise, the operation will be stopped.

LIf an external call is being received during the directory copy, the copy will be stopped. You will need to copy the item(s) again.

3.7.1From a handset to the base unit or another handset

Copying one directory item

1Press {CONF/FUNCTION}.

2Scroll to “Copy directory” by pressing {v} or {e}, and press {>}.

3Press {>} at “Copy 1 item”.

4To copy to the base unit, press {0}. To copy to another handset, enter its extension number using a dialing button ({1} to {8}).

L You can also select the extension number by pressing {v} or {e} (“0” for the base unit, “1” to “8” for another handset).

5Press {>}.

6Press {v} or {e} repeatedly to display the desired item.

L To search for the item by initial, see page 37.

7Press the right soft key ({SEND}).

LWhen the item has been copied,

“Complete” will be displayed and a beep will sound.

LThe destination unit display will show “DIRECTORY RECEIVING”, then

“DIRECTORY RECEIVED”.

LTo copy another item, repeat steps 6 and 7.

8Press {OFF}.

Copying all the directory items

1Press {CONF/FUNCTION}.

2Scroll to “Copy directory” by pressing {v} or {e}, and press {>}.

3Scroll to “Copy all items” by pressing {v} or {e}, and press {>}.

4To copy to the base unit, press {0}. To copy to another handset, enter its extension number using a dialing button ({1} to {8}).

L You can also select the extension number by pressing {v} or {e} (“0” for the base unit, “1” to “8” for another handset).

5Press the right soft key ({SEND}).

LThe handset display will show the items being copied and each item’s number.

LWhen all items have been copied,

“Complete” will be displayed and a beep

will sound.

LThe destination unit display will show

“DIRECTORY RECEIVING”, then

“DIRECTORY RECEIVED”.

LTo copy items to another extension, repeat steps 3 to 5.

6Press {OFF}.

3.7.2From the base unit to a handset

Copying one directory item

1Press {MENU}.

2Press {#}, then {5}{9}.

3Press {A} or {B} repeatedly to display “1 ITEM”.

4Press {SET}.

5Enter the extension number using a dialing button ({1} to {8}).

L You can also select the extension number by pressing {A} or {B} (“1” to “8”).

6Press {SET}.

7Press {A} or {B} repeatedly to display the desired item.

8Press {SET}.

LWhen the item has been copied,

“COMPLETE” will be displayed and a beep will sound.
