Features

Turn on the VCR and the TV, and select the AV mode on the TV.

Set the [VCR/TV/CABLE/DBS] selector on the Remote to [VCR].

A Changing display information

Press [DISPLAY] during recording or recording pause. Each time you press the button, the front display panel shows the auxiliary input, clock time, and the recording speed in sequence.

Recording Speed

To display the VCR status including the time counter, the channel number and the clock time on the TV screen, see ‘Showing on-screen display’ below.

B Specifying recording length

— Instant Timer Recording (ITR)

You can easily specify the recording length from 30 minutes to 8 hours and the VCR shuts off after recording is finished.

During recording, press [REC ( )] on the front panel repeatedly until the recording length you want appears on the front display panel.

The record [Q] indicator starts flashing.

Each time you press the button, recording length increases in 30-minute intervals (up to 8 hours).

To cancel an ITR, press [STOP ( 7 )] on the Remote or [STOP/EJECT ( 7/0 )] on the front panel.

When “SUPERIMPOSE” is set to “ON” ( page 39), you can see the current VCR status on the TV screen.

2 Exit on-screen display

Press [OSD] again.

NOTES:

The subtitles will not appear while the on-screen display is displayed.

If theVCR is in recording pause mode, “¶8” is always displayed.

The VCR status can be also displayed during playback.

Even if “SUPERIMPOSE” is set to “OFF” ( page 39), the on- screen display appears when the VCR plays back the blank portion of a tape. However, on-screen display does not appear when the input location is selected and no signal is input.
