9.3 COMPRESSOR AND LIMITER THRESHOLD UNIT

This function allows setting the unit of the compressor and limiter threshold.

Volts:

The threshold value is displayed in volts.

dBu (0.775 V):

The threshold value is displayed in dBu (0dBu = 0.775V).

dB from Clip:

Threshold setting in dB relative to full modulation. (0 dB = full modulation).

9.4 VU LEVEL METER DISPLAY MODE

Normal fast:

The peak hold function is off; the levels are displayed with a short drop rate of approximately 600 dB/s.

Peak hold:

The peak hold function is on for a more convenient level setting.

Slow decay:

With this setting, levels are displayed with a long drop rate of approximately 60 dB/s; i. e.: with lower signal levels the meter instruments drop slower.

9.5 EDIT PROTECTION

The DSP 244 offers the possibility for edit-protection. Once this protection mode is enabled, internal settings cannot be altered unless the required code-number is entered first. In this way, the appliance is effectively protected against inadvertent or faulty operation.

NOTE:

The rotary controls INPUT 1 / 2 and OUTPUT 1-4 are analog level controls. Edit protection does not restrain the functioning of these controls. Secure the front panel using the PA 1 Plexiglas cover to prevent inadvertent erroneous operation.

To activate edit-protection, you have to select the “LOCK CODE” page in the OPTION mode. Use the rotary encoder to enter your personal password code-number. Acknowledge your entry by pressing the STORE key.
