WARNING! Never leave a mobility device in manual freewheel mode during lift system transport, as the mobility device could roll.

3.Secure the mobility device to the platform using either the retractable tie-down straps (see figure 14) for power chairs or the automatic lock-down arm for scooters.

Squeeze together the release and adjustment levers on the retractable tie-down strap and simultaneously bring both levers forward to a 90-degree position until they “click” into place. See figures 14 and 15. This will unlock the tie-down strap.

Pull the strap out and secure it to the chair restraint tab. See figure 16.

Once each strap is secured in the proper position, squeeze together the release and adjustment levers and simultaneously bring both levers rearward to their original positions. See figures 14 and 17. This will lock the tie-down strap.

To tighten the strap, rotate only the adjustment lever forward and rearward in a ratcheting motion until the tie-down strap reaches an adequate level of resistance for mobility device securement.

WARNING! Never attempt to secure the tie-down straps over the seatback or armrests of a mobility device.

WARNING! For lift systems equipped with the automatic lock-down arm, do not attempt to adjust the pressure of the arm. This feature has been configured by your authorized Pride Provider to meet your needs and requires no further adjustment.

WARNING! If your scooter is equipped with pneumatic drive tires, make sure the tires are inflated to the recom- mended pressure labeled on the tire sidewall. This will ensure that the scooter is at the correct deck height for proper lock-down arm positioning.

NOTE: Inspect the tie-down straps before each use to ensure there are no signs of fraying or wear. Ensure that the mobility device is secured properly before transport. Pride is not liable for damage or loss resulting from improper securing of a mobility device.
