Focusing

1.Place a polarized light specimen on the stage.

2.Rotate the 10× objective into working posi- tion.

3.Raise the microscope stage using the coarse adjustment knob until you reach its positive stop or the specimen touches the objective.

4.Look into the eyepieces and adjust the illu- mination intensity so that it is comfortable for viewing.

5.Using the fine focus adjustment knob, bring the specimen into sharp focus.
