Compander

The compander (compressor/expander) allows higher clarity of signals, avoiding excessive noise and interference. When activated, transmitted signals are compressed before being sent and received signals are expanded when they arrive.

1Press the MENU key 4 times.

2Press the or key to select “  ” (compander off) or

“  ” (compander on).

3Press the MENU key 1 time, or press the PTT, MON, or CAL key to confirm the selection and return to operating mode.

Key Lock

You can lock the MENU, , and keys to prevent accidentally changing the operating mode and channel settings. The Power switch/ Volume control and PTT, CAL*, and MON still function normally.

*The CAL key functions normally only if it has been set up as Call Alert {page 25}.

Press and hold the MENU key for 3 seconds to lock or unlock the transceiver keys.

The icon appears on the display when the transceiver keys are locked. No icon appears when they are unlocked.
