ENGINE/ROTOR REMOVAL AND REPLACEMENT

WARNING

Service and repair should be performed by only Lincoln Electric factory trained personnel. Unauthorized repairs performed on this equipment may result in danger to the technician or machine operator and will invalidate your factory warranty. If for any reason you do not understand the test procedures or are unable to perform the test/repairs safely, contact the Lincoln Electric Service Department for electrical trou- bleshooting assistance before you proceed. Call 1-888-935-3877.

DESCRIPTION

The following procedure will aid the technician in removing the engine and/or rotor for main- tenance or replacement of either component.

NOTE: The procedures described here are for a Kohler engine. The same basic procedures apply to the other engines, although there may be a few slight wiring variations.

MATERIALS NEEDED

Lincoln Electric Rotor Removal Kit (S20788) - FOR ROTOR REMOVAL ONLY

1/4” nut driver 5/16” nut driver

Slot head screw driver 3/8” wrench

7/16” wrench 1/2” wrench 9/16” wrench 5/8” wrench Locking pliers Needle nose pliers Diagonal cutters Impact wrench Torque wrench (ft lbs) Feeler gauge (.017)

INSTRUCTIONS

For Engine and Rotor removal only, follow steps 1-25 under ENGINE AND ROTOR REMOVAL PROCEDURE. For reassembly of engine and rotor go to REASSEMBLY PROCEDURE.

For rotor removal, follow the ENGINE AND ROTOR REMOVAL PROCEDURE and ROTOR REMOVAL PROCEDURE.
