OPERACIÓN CON BATERÍAS AA

El radio FR300 ha sido diseñado para operar con tres baterías AA (no incluidas). La mejor operación se consigue con baterías alcalinas o de litio tamaño AA. Las baterías recargables AA se pueden usar también, sin embargo, ellas se deben cargar en su propio cargador externo. Las baterías de litio AA son más costosas y difíciles de encontrar, pero suministran de dos a cuatro veces la duración de operación de las alcalinas y tienen una vida mucho más larga si no se usan.

Instale las baterías sacando la cubierta del compartimiento de baterías y siguiendo los diagramas de polaridad impresos en la parte interna de la cubierta. Quite la cubierta oprimiendo simultáneamente sobre el punto marcado OPEN y tirando de ella. Para operar el radio modelo FR300 con baterías AA, encienda el radio colocando el control selector en la posición BATTERY.

NOTA: Cuando se usa un adaptador de c.a., las baterías AA se desconectan automáticamente y se pueden dejar dentro de su compartimiento..

FORMA DE EVITAR LOS ESCAPES DE ÁCIDO DE LA BATERÍA

Para evitar los escapes de ácido de las baterías, use solamente baterías alcalinas, de litio, o recargables del tipo níquel-hidruro de metal (Ni-MH) de alta calidad. Nunca combine baterías nuevas y viejas, ni baterías de marcas o tipos diferentes. Los daños causados por el escape de ácido de las baterías no están cubiertos por la garantía de este producto. Si las baterías dejan escapar ácido, no las bote y comuníquese inmediatamente con el fabricante de ellas para preguntar acerca del programa de garantía contra el escape de ácido de sus baterías.

OPERACIÓN DE EMERGENCIA SIN NINGUNA FUENTE DE ENERGÍA

Aun cuando no haya ninguna fuente de energía disponible, incluyendo el paquete de baterías Ni-MH, el radio y la luz se pueden seguir operando girando continuamente la manivela del dínamo, con el control selector en la posición DYNAMO / ADAPTOR.

USO DE UNA FUENTE EXTERNA DE ENERGÍA Y CARGA DE LAS BATERÍAS NI-MH

El radio FR300 puede ser alimentado con un adaptador / cargador de c.a. (no incluido). El adaptador / cargador de c.a. carga automática- mente el paquete interno de baterías Ni-MH. Si el adaptador / cargador tiene las especificaciones correctas, se podrá dejar enchufado sin dañar el paquete de baterías Ni-MH. Cuando se han descargado las baterías completamente, tomará aproximadamente 8 horas para volver a cargarlas si usa el adaptador / cargador correcto. El paquete de baterías Ni-MH alimentará el radio con el control selector en cualquiera de sus posiciones. Mientras se cargan las baterías, la luz roja indicadora de carga LED (diodo emisor de luz) permanecerá encendida (en la parte superior izquierda del modelo FR200).

Para una operación correcta, el adaptador / cargador de c.a. debe satisfacer las especificaciones indicadas abajo.

ESPECIFICACIONES DEL ADAPTADOR / CARGADOR DE C.A.

Salida de 5 voltios c.c.; polaridad negativa; 200 miliamperios de capacidad de corriente; diámetro externo de la punta del enchufe de 3.4 milímetros; diámetro interno de 1.3 milímetros.

Para operar el radio FR300 con un adaptador / cargador de c.a., enchúfelo y coloque el control selector en la posición BATTERY.

NOTA IMPORTANTE: Si usa un adaptador de c.a. con una capacidad de corriente mayor de 200 miliamperios, desenchufe el paquete interno de baterías recargables para evitar daños.
