permita que afilen la cadena en un centro de servicio autorizado.

NOTA: Al cambiar la cadena, inspeccione la rueda dentada de impulsión para ver si tiene desgaste o daños. Si hay señales de desgaste o daños presentes en las áreas indicadas, lleve la sierra a un centro de servicio autorizado para que cambien la rueda dentada.

NOTA: Si no comprende completamente el procedimiento correcto de afilado de la cadena después de leer las instrucciones siguientes, lleve la sierra a afilar a un centro de servicio autorizado o reemplácela con una cadena de contragolpe moderado recomendada.

AFILADO DE LOS DIENTES DE CORTE

Vea las figuras 49 a 52.

Tenga cuidado de afilar todos los dientes de corte a los ángulos especificados y a la misma longitud, ya que sólo puede lograrse un corte rápido cuando están uniformes todos los dientes de corte.

ADVERTENCIA:

La cadena de la sierra está sumamente afilada. Para evitar sufrir lesiones serias, siempre lleve puestos guantes protectores al efectuar labores de mantenimiento de la cadena.

n Tense la cadena antes de afilarla. Consulte el apartado Ajuste de la tensión de la cadena.

nUse una lima redonda de x 4,0 mm (5/32 pulg.) de diámetro con mango. Efectúe toda la limadura en el punto medio de la barra.

nMantenga la lima al nivel de la placa superior de los dientes de corte. No permita que la lima se incline ni se balancee.

nAplique una presión leve pero firme. Efectúe el movimiento hacia la parte frontal del diente.

nLevante la lima para separarla del acero en cada movimiento de regreso.

nDé unas pocas pasadas firmes a cada diente de corte. Lime todos los dientes de corte izquierdos en una dirección. Después lleve la lima al otro lado y lime los dientes de corte derechos en la dirección opuesta.

nCon un cepillo de alambre limpie las limaduras producidas por la lima.

PRECAUCIÓN:

Si la cadena está desafilada o mal afilada, durante el corte puede causar una velocidad excesiva del motor, lo cual puede dañarlo.

ADVERTENCIA:

Un afilado inadecuado de la cadena aumenta el peligro de contragolpe.

ADVERTENCIA:

Si no se cambia o se repara la cadena cuando está dañada, puede causar lesiones serias.
