Fast Ethernet

Fast Ethernet is a networ king standard defined by the Institute of
Electrical and Electronic Engineers (IEEE) in the IEEE 802.3u
Specifi cat i on . Fa st Ethernet runs at 100 Mbps, o r at 20 0 Mbps in Ful l
Duplex mode.
Fast Ethernet uses the same Carrier Sense Multiple Access with
Collision Detection (CSM A/CD) architecture used on 10BASE-T
and 10BASE- 2 10 Mbps networ k specif ications, which allows for
easy integration with existing networks.
