Chapter 3 Calibration Procedures

Performance Verification Tests

Performance Verification Tests

The performance verification tests use the power supply's specifications listed in chapter 1, "Specifications", starting on page 13.

You can perform two different levels of performance verification tests:

Self-TestA series of internal verification tests that provide high confidence that the power supply is operational.

Performance Verification Tests These tests can be used to verify the power supply's specifications following repairs to specific circuits.

Self-Test

A power-on self-test occurs automatically when you turn on the power supply. This limited test assures you that the power supply is operational.

The complete self-test is enabled by pressing the Recall key (actually any front panel keys except the Error key) and the power-line switch simultaneously and then continuing to press the Recall key for 5 seconds. The complete self-test will be finished in 2 more seconds.

You can also perform a self-test from the remote interface (see chapter 3 in the Agilent E3632A User's Guide).

If the self-test is successful, "PASS" is displayed on the front panel.

If the self-test fails, "FAIL" is displayed and the ERROR annunciator turns on. If repair is required, see chapter 5, "Service", starting on page 89, for further details.

If self-test passes, you have a high confidence that the power supply is operational.

Performance Verification Tests

These tests can be used to verify the power supply's specifications following repairs to specific circuits. The following sections explain all verification procedures in detail. All of the performance test specifications are shown in each test.
