When a DVD player is connected to 5.1 CH INPUT jacks of this unit, you can listen to DOLBY DIGITAL SURROUND sound, which enables you to enjoy theater-quality sound in your home.

7 Press VIDEO/AUX/PHONO 5.1 CH repeatedly until

“5.1 ch IN” is displayed.

DOLBY DIGITAL SURROUND is turned on.

2 Start playing DOLBY DIGITAL SURROUND sound

on the DVD player.

If the [)VD player is not connected to VIDEO/AUX/PHONO IN jacks:

-the spectrum analyzer does not show the sound level of the DVD player.

-the sound from the connected DVD player cannot be recorded. To remove these limitations, connect the LINE OUT jacks of the DVD player to VIDEO/AUX/PHONO IN jacks of this unit besicles connecting to 5.1 CH INPUT jacks.

The signals through VIDEO/AUX/PHONO IN jacks enable the spectrum analyzer to work and the recording to be done. Refer also to the operating instructions of the DVD player.

The DIOLBY DIGITAL SURROUND sound cannot be recorded in any way.

The DOLBY PRO LOGIC and the DSP SURROUND system are automatically canceled when the 5.1 CH is selected.

Make sure the software played back with the connected equipment support the DOLBY DIGITAL SURROUND.

The function is changed from the 5.ICH to the VIDEO when:

-the headphones are plugged in.

-the DSP SURROUND system or the DOLBY PRO LOGIC is turned on.

To adjust the sound levels of the center and surround speakers in DOLBY DIGITAL SURROUND

1Press VIDEO/AUX/PHONO 5.1 CH repeatedly until “5.lch IN” is displayed.

DOLBY DIGITAL SURROUND is turned on.

2Press MANUAL SELECT (TEST) on the remote control repeatedly.

Speaker name appear in turn as follows:

3Press + or W to adjust the sound level while “CEN,”“S- L“or “S-R is displayed.

Each level can be adjusted between -8 dB and +7dB.

aRepeat steps 2 and 3 to adjust each speaker’s sound level.

If the surround speakers or the center speaker level of the DOLBY DIGITAL SURROUND is changed, that of the DSP SURROUND system (page 7) and the DOLBY PRO LOGIC (page 15) is also changed.
