NOTE: If there is no command entered for 10 seconds, “Remote operation” will be announced. If there is no command entered for another 10 seconds, the inter- nal access call will end automatically.

Using a 1080 mailbox

Listening to messages - internal access

If a 1040 phone is assigned to a 1080 system extension mailbox, the screen will display the number of new and all messages you have. You will see DTAD: XX/YY, with xx being the number of new, (unplayed,) messges, and yy the number of all messages. Follow the steps below to access the 1080 system extension mailbox to play back your messages.

1.Press [INTERCOM], then [0] on a 1040 system extension.

If you want to alert the person at the 1080 mailbox extension before starting internal ac- cess on a 1040 extension, you can make a single page to the 1080 mailbox (page 42).

2.Enter the three-digit remote access code (111 unless you have changed it, see the installation guide.

3.Enter commands (See the list below).

4.Press [INTERCOM] on the 1040 system exten- sion to end the internal access and save all undeleted messages.

	Play all messages	Press to play all extension messages for this 1040
	[1] [*]	extension.

	Play new messages	Press to play new extension messages for this
	[1]	1040 extension.

	Replay current	Press within 3 seconds of the message playing to
	message and replay	go back to the previous message. Press after 3
	previous message	seconds of the message playing to repeat the
	[2]	seconds of the message playing to repeat the
	[2]	message currently playing.

	Skip to next message	Press during playback to skip the current message
	[3]	and advance to the next message.

	Delete message(s)	Press during playback to delete the current message.

	Delete all message(s)	Press to delete all messages for this 1040 exten-

	Stop	Press to stop any operation (e.g. stop playback,
	[8]	stop recording).

	Record a memo	Press [9], wait for beep then begin speaking. Press
