ADCCP (Advanced data communications control procedures) — A protocol developed by ANSI, and later adopted by the National Bureau of Standards, the Federal Communications Standards Committee, and the Defense Department. There are virtually no differences between HDLC and ADCCP.

See Table 1-4for the names of some protocols that are commonly used at specific ISO layers.
