Ethernet connectivity with the TN8412AP circuit pack

The S8400 Media Server supports connectivity with the TN8412AP (SIPI) circuit pack through a 10/100 BaseT Ethernet twisted pair on the IPSI-2 cable adapter. This interface is for control only

-no bearer traffic is carried over this connection. This Ethernet is connected to the Communication Manager Processor complex. The IPSI-2 cable adapter is mounted on the rear of the TN8412AP SIPI circuit pack.

The physical connection between the TN8412AP and the TN8400 circuit packs is made by either:

1.Using a 10/100 Base T Ethernet crossover cable that directly interconnects the appropriate backplane pins of the two circuit packs. This cable plugs into the TN8400AP cable adapter RJ45 ETH-A port and the TN8412AP IPSI-2 adapter RJ45 control port.

2.Connection to the customer LAN.
