8-1. Presser foot adjustment

1.Loosen the screw q, lower the presser foot w so that its bottom can lightly touch the workpiece, and tighten the screw q again.

Note: If the presser foot is lowered too far, the workpiece will shift when sewing. Also, if the presser foot is too high, skipped stitches may oc- cur.

2.Turn the pulley manually to make sure that the needle

enters the center of the needle hole in the presser foot w. If the needle is not aligned with the center of the needle hole, remove the cap e, loosen the screw r, and turn the presser foot (presser bar) for adjustment.

When the presser foot is in the high position and the needle point is projecting below the presser foot, it could cause injuries.

9. Changing the presser foot lift

Standard presser foot q lift is 3 mm (max. 8 mm).

Adjusting presser foot lift to 3 - 5 mm

1.Loosen the shoulder screw w and open the stepping cover e.

2.Loosen the nut r and adjust the stepping work clamp con. rod t pisition.

(When the stepping work clamp con. rod t is raised, the lift will amount increase. When lowered, the lift amount will decrease.)

Adjusting presser foot lift to 5 - 8 mm

1.Turn the upper shaft to set the presser foot to its lowest point. Loosen the bolt o of stepping work clamp arm R i. Adjust the clearance between the presser lifter y and the presser bar bush u to 0.5 - 1 mm.

2.Loosen the nut r and adjust the stepping work clamp con. rod t position.

(When the stepping work clamp con. rod t is raised, the lift amount will increase. When lowered, the lift amount will decrease.

If vertical movement of the presser foot is not required

1.Remove the face plate !0.

2.Remove the shoulder screw !1and re-attach the step- ping link !2to the upper screw hole !4of stepping work clamp arm F !3.
