DMZ

If you have a client PC that cannot run an Internet application properly from behind the firewall, you can open the client up to unrestricted two-way Inter- net access. This may be necessary if the NAT feature is causing problems with an application such as a game or video conferencing application. Use this feature on a temporary basis as a DMZ host is highly exposed to the dangers of the Internet

To put a computer in the DMZ, enter its LAN IP address and click “Apply” for the change to take effect.

QoS

Quality of Service (QoS) assigns priority levels to different kinds of packets to minimize delays in the transfer of data. The table lists five common ap- plications and lets you enter the port numbers for up to three more. Click the High Priority button for the application(s) whose packets you wish to receive preferential treatment.
