The Broadcast Suppression screen allows the user to set a desired limit of receive broadcast frames per port per second. For details, refer to Section 5.24.

802.1Q VLAN CONFIGURATION

This menu item will only display if the module has been configured to operate as an IEEE 802.1Q switch and the Management Mode has been set to STAND ALONE. When selected, this menu item opens the VLAN Main Menu screen. For details, refer to the Cabletron Systems Port Based VLAN User’s Guide. Section 5.15.9, Setting the Operational Mode, describes how to configure the modules to function as 802.1Q switches. Section 5.15.10, Setting the Management Mode, describes how to set the module to STAND ALONE management mode.

NOTE

The module does not have to be in STAND ALONE mode to operate as an 802.1Q switch. In DISTRIBUTED management mode, 802.1Q VLANs are created and maintained via the 802.1Q VLAN CONFIGURATION menu item on the Chassis Menu screen. Refer to Section 5.6 for details.
