OPTIONAL INSTALLATIONS AND

MODE SWITCH BANK SETTINGS

This appendix covers the following items:

•Required tools (Section C.1)

•Locations, functions, and settings for the mode switches (Section C.2)

•Installing Optional Fast Ethernet Interface Modules (Section C.3)

C.1 REQUIRED TOOLS

You need the following tools to perform the procedures provided in this appendix:

•Antistatic wrist strap (provided with 6C105 chassis)

NOTE

A Phillips screwdriver is required when installing optional Fast Ethernet Interface Modules for ports 7 and 8 into the 6H122-08.

C.2 SETTING THE MODE SWITCH

These switches are set at the factory and do not need to be changed unless you intend to perform the following:

•Force download a new image file from a BootP server.

•Clear NVRAM and restore all user-entered parameters such as the IP address and Subnet Masks to the 6H122-08 “Default” configuration settings.

•Clear user-entered passwords stored in NVRAM and restore the default passwords.
