When using the built-in speaker, make sure that “H” is not displayed on the screen. When using the headphones, make sure that “H” is displayed. Change the setting as necessary following the procedure below.

Mastering the Basics

1.Press the MENU button to open the menu.

2.Turn the selector dial to select [VCR SET UP] and press the selector dial.

3.Turn the selector dial to select [AV/PHONES] and press the selector dial.

4.Turn the selector dial to select [AV] or [PHONES H].

5.Press the MENU button to close the menu.

The built-in speaker does not sound when “H” is displayed.

Do not connect headphones unless “H” is displayed as it produces noise.

The built-in speaker is monaural. Use headphones for stereo sound.

The built-in speaker turns off when the camcorder is set to a mode other than the PLAY (VCR) mode or when you use the headphones.
