5.3.5 Hard Drive

The middle compartment on the front of the computer is a dedicated hard drive bay. No other device should be installed in this bay. Remove the hard drive prior to performing maintenance on the computer.

IMPORTANT: Be sure to save current data and turn the computer off before removing the hard drive.

Removing the Hard Drive

To remove a hard drive from the hard drive bay, complete the following steps:

1.Remove the security screw from the hard drive release on the bottom of the computer (Figure 5-10).
