A barbecuegrillbecomeshot duringuse. Itis necessaryto useprotectivegloveswhenoperatingcontrolknobs,LP. cylindershut-offknobor lid handle. DO NOTtouchcastings,glassandgrids.

DO NOTdisposeof unusedpropanegasby openingthe LP. cylindervalveandventingvaporintothe atmosphere. Instead,takethe cylinder to yourpropanegassupplier.

Be sureto tightenupall hardware(screws,nuts, bolts,etc.)at leastoncea year or eachgrillingseason.

CONDITIONTHE GRILL

' Vegetableoil can be usedto coatandpreservethe internalgrids,burnerandmetalpartswhile instorage.

,Beforeusingthe grillfor the first timeor afterstorage,operategrillwithlid closedon highsettingfor 15minutesto burnawayoil.

• Once the oil hasburntaway,checkthe burnerflamepernextstep.

THE BURNERFLAME

,Keepthe grill lidclosedandthe cookingsurfacesin place.

,Observethe burner'sflamefrombelowthe grillbottomor by lookingthroughthe matchlightinghole. (Fig. 26)

,Flamesshouldappearsimilarto the goodflameshownin Fig.26aandas follows:

A goodflameshouldbe bluewith someyellowtip comingfromthe burnerholes.

Ifflamesare excessivelyyellowandirregular,the oilresiduemaynot be completelyburnedoff or the venturimaybecloggedor may

 

notbe properlypositionedoverthe orifices. Allowgrillto coolbeforere-positmningventudovervalveandOrifices.
