Assemblyis best done in the area wherethe saw will
be used.When you remove thesaw and hardware
from the packingmaterials, carefully check the items
withthe Loose Parts list. If you are unsure about the
descriptionof any part, referto their illustrations.For
yourconvenience, all fasteners havebeen drawn
actualsize. If any parts are missing, delay assembling
untilyou have obtained the missing part(s).
Yourradial arm saw iscapable ofa wide varietyof
operations,and thus requiresa numberof initialsetup
adjustments.However, oncethe saw is set up, you
cancheck yoursaw inabout ten minutesand correct
any misalignmentwith the procedures in the Adjust-
mentsection.

usingthe saw. Run a check on your saw
frequently,referring tothe Adjustmentssection.
Failureto perform the adjustments inthe initial
set up or on a frequentbasis can resultin boor

ASSEMBLING LEG STAND
See Figures 10,4-10C.
Take the followinghardware from the hardware
bags inthe legstand carton:
40 truss head screws (1/4-20 x 5/8 in.)
40 star washers (1/4 in.)
40 hex nuts(1/4-20)
Take the following hardware from the remaining
hardwarebags inthe leg stand carton:
4 levelingfeet
8 large hex nuts (3/8-16)
Obtainfour legs and eight bracesfrom the leg
standcarton. See the Loose Pans section.
Placea 3/8-16 hex nut on each leveling foot and
insert levelingfeet intothe bottom of the legs. Cap
withremaining 3/8-16 hex nutsbut only finger
tighten.See Figure I OA.
Placea shortupper brace inside twoof thelegs
(wideend of legsup) and align the three holesin
thebrace with the holes inthe legs.
Insertthe screws.Add the star washers and 1/4-20
hexnuts. Finger tighten.
Installa short lower brace on the legs.
See Figure I OA.
Repeatfor the otherend assembly.
Connectthe leg sets with a longupper brace. Add
thehardware and fingertighten. Repeat forthe
otherside brace, then installthelong lower braces.
See Figure lOB.
Tighten all screws,washers, and nutswith a 7/16
in.wrench and as needed a#2 phillipsscrewdriver.
Movethe leg stand to the desired location.Usinga
level,adjust the leveling feet by raising or lowering
the boltswitha9/16 in. wrench.
When the leg standis level, securely tightenall four
nutswith the wrench.
Yourleg stand is now completely assembled and
readyfor use. See Figure 10C.
