INSTALLING RIP SCALE INDICATORS
See Figure 28,
The rip scaleindicators on the arm show the distance
between the blade and the rip fence with the fence in
the front and rear positions. The upperscale isused
when the fence is positioneddirectly behind the front
table. The lowerscale is used whenthe fence isat the
extreme rear, directlyin front of the column,
The In-Rip Indicatoris onthe rightside of the arm.
The Out-Rip Indicator is on the left side of the arm,

To complete setting up your saw, continue withthe
Adjustmentprocedures.The adjustments shouldbe
checkedregularly, depending on usage. Your saw will
provideaccurate cuts with fine tolerances as longas
youprotectthe accuracy with frequent alignment
checks. The radialarm saw can performa wide range
of highquality cuts.
The final stepwill be connecting the control cut
device. The control cut device offersmany benefits.
As it increases operator control, it eliminates the risk
ina cross cutof the saw "climbing" out and over the
workpiece at the operator. Feed control of the blade
as it cuts through theworkplace increases, asdoes
the accuracy of the cut. The following adjustments
need to be completed before the control cut device is
connected.
Yourradial armsaw isdesigned to perform avariety of
complexcuts with fine tolerances. A weekly alignment
checkensuresthat yoursaw can performwithprecision.
It takes about ten minutes and the results is batter
performanceand a longer life for your saw.
Performthe checks in the order given. If you miss an
adjustment, go back to the missed adjustment and
repeatall stepsfrom that pointforward.
_, CAUTION: Failure to check alignments and
performthe adjustmentsin the initialset upor on
afrequentbasis can result in poorperformanceor
machinedamage.
