Variationsfrom the basiccuts include cuttinglong
workpiecesand non-throughcuts.
When making one of the followingcuts,follow the
instructionsthat applyfor the basiccut, dependingon
the position,shape, and sizeof the wood. Do not
attempt these cuts untilyou are skilledwith the basic
cuts.
CUTTING LONG WORKPIECES
See Figure48.
Place a supportthe same heightas the saw table
nearbyfor the cut work.
WARNING: Make sure the blade guardis
loweredand isworking properlytoprevent
possibleinjury.
_, WARNING: Never put your hands within 3 in. of
the blade when it ison.
Makesure the wooddoes nottouch the blade
beforeyou turn on the saw with the switchon the
arm. Letthe bladebuild up to full speed before it
contactsthewood.
When thework is completed, press the switch off
and removethe key.
