Rotationcheck:To check the rotation,holdthe front
of the armwith one hand and grasp the top ofthe
columnsupportwith the other. Press the arm to the
side. If there is play betweenthe column support
and the column tube, it needs to be adjusted. See
Figure20B.

ElevationAdjustment:If the elevationcheck did not
showany play between the columntube and the
support,go to the rotation adjustment.Otherwise,
raiseand lowerthe arm withthe elevatinghand-
wheel.Tighten the blackscrews on the right side of
thecolumn support by 1/16thto 1/8th of a turn.
Tightenthe two silver screwson the left side
slightlymore. You will need two 1/2 in.wrenches or
sockets.Turn the elevatinghandwheel again. Ifthe
columntube binds,loosen the silverand black
screws and turnthe handwheel again. See Figure
20C.
When the elevation is smooth, check for looseness
again by pressingupward on the front ofthe arm.
Repeat the previous step until elevation issmooth
with no play between the column tube and the
columnsupport.
