REMOVING THE BLADE
See Figure 14.
Remove the blade and blade guard assembly during
setupfor safety and better access. The blade guard
includesan upper blade guard, an outer lower guard,
and an innerlower guard. The lower inner guard
consistsof two overlappingslotted metalstrips. The
stripsare held together with a retaining screwand a
nut. Locate these items before beginning the proce-
dure.
_, WARNING: To prevent accidental contact with
theblade that could result in injury, remove the
bladeand blade guardbefore making setups
involvingthe blade arborand work stand. Use
theblade wrenches provided with yoursaw.
Remove the retainingscrew and nut at the bottom
of the lower innerblade guard.
Loosenthe guardclamp screw, a longthumbscrew
between the blade guard and the motor.
Rotateand lift the guard assembly up and over the
blade, then remove it,
Holdthe blade arbor (motor shaft) with one of the
two bladewrenches provided. Put the other blade
wrenchon the blade nut and turnit clockwise
(down), sincethe blade arbor has left handthreads.
Remove the blade nut,outer blade washer, saw
blade,and innerblade washer, Set these items
aside untilall the tableshave been installedand the
fronttable is level.

The table supports are a base for the threewooden
table sectionsand fence.
Locatethe two table supportsand the following
hardware:
4 square head bolts (5/16o18x 3/4 in.)
4 Iockwashers(5/16 in.)
4 hex nuts (5/16-18)
4flat washers(5/16 in.)
Attachthe supportsto the sideof the saw base.
There are holes in both sides of each support.The
longside of each support (withthe slotted holes)
fits againstthe saw base.
Usetwo square head bolts per support, inserted
from withinthe saw base outward.
Placea flat washer, a lock washer, and a hex nut
onthe end of each screw.
Positiontablesupports so that bolts are approxi-
mately(;entered in slottedholes.
Fingertightenor snug with a 112in. wrenchonly at
thistime. Final adjustments will be made laterin
LevelingThe Table Supports section.
