Software Update Menu

The Software Update menu is used to update the software on the DES-5200. Software can be updated using either XMODEM or TFTP.

XMODEM requires a direct physical connection between a PC and the DES- 5200.

TFTP requires a TFTP server and that you know the Internet Protocol (IP) address of the server and the complete path and filename. TFTP can be done over the network or from a remote location.

Software Update Configuration

XMODEM

There are two options on the menu displayed in Figure 27. XMODEM is the default option.

Follow these steps to download using XMODEM:

1.Use HyperTerminal with the settings given under Local Console Management.

2.Verify the download mode is set for XMODEM.

3.Select EXECUTE and press Enter.
