WAN

Wide Area Network, an interconnected set of

 

computers and other devices spread over a

 

large geographic area. (Often used synony-

 

mously with “internet.”) A WAN connection

 

might be the connection of two office build-

 

ings on different sides of the city, or a

 

connection to the Internet, for example.
