20 Removing the Hard Drive

CAUTION: To avoid data loss, do not remove the hard drive while the computer is in Sleep or On state.

CAUTION: Hard drives are extremely fragile. Exercise care when handling the hard drive.

Prerequisites

1Remove the back cover. See "Removing the Back Cover" on page 19.

2Remove the stand. See "Removing the Stand" on page 47.

Procedure

1Using the straps on the hard-drive assembly, gently lift the hard-drive assembly out of the hard-drive cage.

2Disconnect the power and data-cable connector from the hard-drive assembly.
